Ruth Lucille Oden

Mrs. Ruth Lucille Oden, 84, of Frederick, died on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald L. "Leonard" Oden, Sr. Born in Frederick, on April 19, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William Christopher and Bessie Louise Carmack Rice. She had worked for 20 years at Fairchild Industries in Germantown and retired in 1989. She was of the Lutheran Faith, loved her family, enjoyed camping and fishing at her home in Lewes, Delaware. Surviving are her two sons, Robert M. Boone, Jr., and wife Bonnie, of Smithsburg, and Randall Wayne Boone, Sr., and wife Jenny, of Lime Kiln, two step children, Donnie L. Oden, Jr., of Pennsylvania and Richard T. Oden, Sr., of Frederick, two brothers, Meredith E. Rice and Glenn E. Rice, both of Frederick, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a special friend, Patti Clark, granddaughter, Barbara Shankle, Grandson, James Boone and great granddaughter, Savina Escalante. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Dr. W. Philip Fogarty, will officiate.
