Diane Elizabeth Gittings

Mrs. Diane Elizabeth (Petty) Gittings, 54, of Hagerstown, died on Thursday, March 8 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. She was the wife of Kent Elsworth Gittings. Born on April 4, 1957, she was the daughter of the late John Lee Petty and Jean Elizabeth (Beall) Petty. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sister Barbara Davis and husband Sheldon, brother-in-law Kirk Gittings and Victoria as well as nieces and nephews Frank Palievka, Jr., Lisa Ovellet, Michael Binnix, Erika Burns and Gabriel Varela. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10 from 2 to 4 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. All services and the interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tails of Hope Sanctuary, P.O. Box 875, Mount Airy, Maryland 21771 or to Animal Rescue League, 71 Oglethorpe Street, NW Washington, DC 20011.
