Steven A. Ward

March 2, 1944 — March 20, 2012

Mr. Steven A. Ward, age 68 of Frederick, MD, beloved husband of Bonnie, father to Denham (Chris), grandfather to Marin, son to Mary Semmler and brother to Diane Strickland (Charles), died peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 after a brief illness. He worked in the field of information technology starting in college. He served in a variety of management positions including the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Officer Corp, Vice President of Computer Network Corporation, and Director of Information Management at Ft. Detrick, MD. In 1988, he founded Ward Systems Group, Inc. whose mission was to bring the new science of artificial intelligence into everyday application for business, science, and market predictions. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 held at 1 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Frederick Hospice, 516 Trail Ave., P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702. He will be greatly missed.
