Mrs. Gloria Ellen (Senft) Blank, 85, of Frederick, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Ralph Henry Blank, who died on May 21, 1999. Born on April 23, 1926, in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ray A. and Ellen L. (Fogle) Senft. After marrying and moving to Frederick County she was employed at the Barbara Fritchie Candy Store, Landsdale and Price Electric. Gloria was an active member of the Edgewood First Church of God until moving from her home of over 50 years. Her favorite memory was making Apple Butter with her friends at the church. She was a housewife, mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gloria enjoyed reading and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Rex K. Blank of Boonsboro, daughter, Judy A. Snyder and husband Jerry of Wolfsville, sister, Elaine Thomas of Indiana, grandchildren, Nathan Socks, Jordan Socks, Jonathan Socks, Laura Socks, Brittney Blank, James Remsburg, Jason Remsburg, Raymond Blank and Cassy Blank, great-grandchildren, Natylie Socks, Trever Socks and Allana Blank, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, brothers Charles Senft, Kenneth Senft and Gordon Senft and grandson, Joshua Blank. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 PM, on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Edgewood Church of God, 8204 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick, MD 21702. Pastor Joe Burdette will officiate.
