Philip Nelson Smith, 40, of Monrovia, died on May 12, 2012 at Washington Hospital Center. He was the husband of Kristin Lin (Skarda) Smith. Born on April 3, 1972, he was the son of Charles R. Smith, Jr. and Sharon L. (Crone) Smith. Philip loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding ATV's, dirtbikes and motorcycles. He was a Redskins fan and loved music. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter and was devoted to his wife. They were "his girls". In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Cheyanne Skye Smith, sisters Ruth Cole and significant other James Tressler, Jr., Catherine Goff and husband Douglas, Mother-In-Law Judy Berg and her husband Wayne Berg and Father-In-Law Edward Skarda, Brothers-In-Law Bryan Skarda and his wife Tiffany and Michael Skarda and his wife Jessica as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 1-3 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
