Mrs. Edna Mae Poole, 94, of Monrovia, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Kline Hospice House where she resided for the past six months. She was the wife of the late Charles Hubert Poole Sr. Born October 27, 1917 in Mount Airy; she was the daughter of the late Basil David and Charlotte Elizabeth (Gore) Cashour. She farmed with her husband in the New Market and Monrovia area for many years. She was a life member of the New Market United Methodist Church and a member of the New Market Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Edna is survived by three sons, Norman D. Poole and wife Carol, Howard C. Poole, and Raymond M. Poole and wife Vivian; one daughter, Mary C. Smith and husband Emanuel; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles H. Poole Jr., two sisters, Elizabeth Fox and Ida Horton, and two brothers, David Cashour and Andy Cashour. The family will receive friends from 3-5 & 7-9PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St. Frederick, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the New Market United Methodist Church, 5501 Old New Market Rd, in New Market. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Mount Airy.
