Mr. Joseph "Joe" Michael McNeal, 83, of Frederick, MD, died, June 1, 2012 after a pro- longed illness. He was the husband of 61 years, to Ann McNeal.Born June 29, 1928 in Burkittsville, he was the son of the late Oscar and Minnie McNeal. Joe graduated from Frederick High School in 1945. He served in both the Merchant Marines and the Navy. Until retirement, he worked many years as a systems engineer for Acco (formerly Aerojet General) in Frederick. Joe enjoyed photography, greyhound rescue, and was a history buff.In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his children J. Michael McNeal and his wife Karen, Joanne McNeal, and Marc McNeal and his wife Robin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kristen McNeal, Brandon McNeal, David Gysberts, and Sarah Stevens and her husband Patrick.
