Ann Catherine Sabin

November 28, 1925 — June 2, 2012

Ann Sabin, nee (Cronin) a long-time resident of Rockville, Maryland died peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2012. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Sabin. Ann was born in New York on November 28, 1925. Her family relocated to Washington, D.C., where she finished her schooling and married her husband of 47 years, Joseph C. Sabin. Ann coordinated raising her family with a dedicated Federal career, retiring in 1972 from the National Library of Medicine. Ann truly enjoyed her retirement years, traveling, golfing and playing bridge. She was an active member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Norbeck for over 40 years. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brother William J. Cronin; she is survived by her two daughters Anita Sabin of New Market and Catherine Sabin Lastner of Jefferson. Also survived by three grandchildren: Drew Matera, Matthew and Jessica Lastner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD on Wednesday June 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory may be made to So Others Might Eat, 71 O' Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.
