Mrs. Edna Darner Butcher, 94, of Frederick, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the wife of the late Howard Butcher. Born on September 6, 1917, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Roelke) Darner. She is survived by brother, Carl F. Darner and wife Lucille, nieces and nephews, William Corbin and wife Ann Stratte, Dorthea Chatkins, Carol Whittington and husband Jay, Robert Carbaugh, Darryl Corbin, Sally Baldridge and husband Dennis, Stephen Darner and wife Suzanne and Timothy Darner, numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dora Carbaugh and Louise Main. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am, on Monday, July 9, 2012, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel. Rev. Kenneth R. Dunnington will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
