Irving Victor Marken Abb was born on January 6,1926 at Inglenook, the summer home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Marken at Braddock Heights, Frederick County, Maryland. His childhood was spent in Frederick where his father founded and managed the I.A. Abb Company. After graduating from St. Johns College and graduate school, Irving practiced law in Montgomery and Frederick Counties for the next fifty five years. His passion for foxhunting inspired him to have his own pack of hounds at Big Meadow Farm in Howard County in the 1970's. He was District Commissioner of the Howard County Pony Club and was a member of the American Carriage Association. Irving enjoyed hunting waterfowl on the Eastern Shore, thoroughbred horse racing, hill topping, storytelling and the study of the Civil War. He died peacefully in his home at the age of eighty-six years. Irving Abb is survived by former wife,Chi Chi Brown , their two children, daughter Victoria Abb and son Christopher Abb and a son Marken Abb and daughter Mara Cary Abb from previous marriages., four grandchildren, Nicholas Mellin, Lindsey Mathis, Shelby Abb and Emma Abb and one great grandchild Reilly Mellin. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 11:00 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 South Market Street, Frederick. Mr. Abb will be taken to his final resting place on a horse drawn carriage. Those who are planning on attending should assemble at the historic Francis Scott Key Chapel by 10:45 AM.
