Mrs. Ida Olivia Griffith, 82, of Frederick, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Hadley Memorial Hospital, in Washington, DC. Twice married, she was the wife of the late M. S. Sexton and the late Richard L. Griffith. Born in Dennings, Maryland on July 13, 1930, she was the only daughter of the late F. Lawrence Haines and Florence Brown Page. She had worked for C & P Telephone Company, in Gaithersburg, and for more then 40 years she worked in communications at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. After the hospital she worked for two years at the Doctor's Answering Service as a switch board operator. Ida enjoyed crocheting afghans, doilies and christening outfits. She also did some knitting and cross stitching. When not busy with her hobbies she loved mowing the grass at her home. She will be missed by her pet dogs, Sebastian and Angel. Surviving are her twin daughters, Mary Ellen Lerbscher, of Lititz, PA and Ruth Brubaker and husband Abe, of Manheim, PA, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many dear friends, including, Robert Tuckerman, and Joanne Cottrell. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Rev. David Hughes, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
