Gloria Mae Virts

Mrs. Gloria Mae Virts, 68, of Frederick, died July 22, 2012 at her home in Frederick. She was the wife of the late Harold S. "Dick" Virts, Jr. Born on September 22, 1943 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Roy Runkles and Gracey Beachley Runkles. Gloria worked for many years at Frederick Tailoring. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing and riding motorcycles in her early years. She is survived by sisters Maryetta Gastley, Evelyn Neal and husband Kenny, Jo Anne May, Belva Mercer and husband Eddie and Linda Smith, her Father-In-Law Harold S. Virts, Sr. and his wife Kitty and Brother-In-Law Gene Virts and his wife Patricia as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a very special friend Louise Rickrode who was by her side to the end. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 11:00 AM in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 South Market Street, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Avenue, Frederick, Maryland 21701.
