Elmer Henderickson

Mr. Elmer Elsworth Hendrickson, 87, of Frederick, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Vindobona Nursing & Rehab Center. He was the husband of the late Frances Irene Hendrickson. Born January 7, 1925 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late George Pearre and Helen Louise (Blume) Hendrickson. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Hughes United Methodist Church in Wheaton. Elmer is survived by one son, Gregory G. Hendrickson of Westminster, MD; two sisters, Mary Bare of Frederick, MD and twin sister Emma Ambrose of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren, Gregory Hendrickson Jr., Sean Metcalf, Andrew Metcalf, and Amanda Metcalf; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by one brother, George Hendrickson, and one sister Dorothy Eyler. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, from 6-8 pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD, 21701. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, at 10 am in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Beekley will officiate. Interment will follow at Clustered Spires Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Elmer's honor to the Salvation Army of Frederick, P.O. Box 1003, Frederick, MD 21705.
