Rose Myrlee Dodd Burtner

Rose Myrlee Dodd Burtner, of Marker Road, Middletown, MD passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Northhampton Manor in Frederick from complications of pneumonia. She was the wife of the late Cecil R. Burtner, who died on November 24, 2011. They were married for 62 years. Born November 11, 1929 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Charley Moss Dodd and the late Rosie Masser Dodd.Mrs. Burtner was a lifetime resident of Frederick County and developed many friendships. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1947 and then attended the Frederick Hospital School of nursing where she graduated in 1951. Mrs. Burtner worked as a Registered nurse at Frederick Memorial hospital for many years."Myrlee" was also well- known in the Middletown Valley as co-owner of Burtner's Meats with her husband, Cecil R. Burtner. Myrlee enjoyed playing cards, traveling, crabbing and spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of the Mt. Briar Church of God in Keedysville, Maryland.She is survived by her four children; Charles W Burtner and wife, Sherry. Teresa Burtner Brunner Kachermeyer and husband Don, Brad L. Burtner and wife, Lisa and Mary K. Burtner Lockwood; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Burtner Biser and husband, Scott, Jennifer Burtner Biser and husband, Joey, Matt Brunner and fiancé, Amie Welch, Dawn Motosicky Moody and husband, Jim, Steven Motosicky and wife, Hollie, Abby Burtner and Molly Burtner; and 14 great-grandchildren.She is also survived by her sister Edna Marie Clem and a host of nieces, and nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles M. Dodd Jr and a sister, Elaine E. Dodd.Friends will be recieved on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home, Pastor Joe Burdette officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Biser, Joey Biser, Matt Brunner, Jim Moody, Steven Motosicky and Danny Geisinger.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O.
