Virginia Hickman Catlett

Virginia Barry Hickman Catlett, 93, of Frederick, died on Friday, August 17, 2012, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. In 1938, she married Ludwell F. Catlett, who died in 1995. She was born in Washington, D. C., on March 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Laura Hickman. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church wherein her younger years she was very active teaching Sunday School and aided in volunteering at Families Plus. Surviving are her two children, son, Lee Catlett and wife Mary Lee, of Leesburg, VA and daughter, Joanne Catlett, of Arlington, VA, two grandchildren, Amy Strong and husband Matthew, Caroline LeCount and husband Scott, and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. 31 East Church Street, Frederick. The Rev. Dr. Robert Driver-Bishop, pastor of the church, will officiate. Private interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown. The Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, is in charge of the arrangements.
