Mr. Bernard Alden "Boots" Kolb Sr., of Adamstown, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Northampton Manor. He was the husband of the late Evelyn W. Kolb who passed away February 1, 2003. Born August 9, 1918 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Earl Edward and Nellie Ray Kolb. He worked as a truck driver but was most proud of his 58 years working with H.C. Summers as a feed advisor and salesman. He was a member of Doubs United Methodist Church in Doubs. Boots true love was baseball, he played for more than 30 years in Frederick County, playing for Tri-County and Maryland State. Boots was survived by two sons, Bernard A. Kolb Jr. and wife Carolyn, and Donald W. Kolb Sr. and wife Barbara; two sisters, Eleanor Warner and Carol Ramsburg; four grandchildren, Donald Kolb Jr., Jennifer Kolb, Patrick Kolb, and Timothy Kolb; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, and his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday, August 20th at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 21st in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet cemetery.
