Mrs. Helen Margaret May, 94, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Northampton Manor Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Carl L. "Buck" May. She was born in Frederick, on June 19, 1918, a daughter of the late Albert and Bessie Smith Dyer. She was known by many as Granny, she enjoyed working on crafts, country music, and loved her many trips to the Great Frederick Fair, York Fair and visiting Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Frederick and for many years she worked as a seamstress for the Sagner's Clothing Factory. Surviving her are two daughters, Patsy J. Eavey and Jan "Kris "Crone and husband Thomas, all of Frederick, a daughter-in-law, Eunice Young, of Frederick, five grandchildren, Becky Clawson and husband Jordan, Jacob Eavey and wife Renee, Robert Young and wife Pam, Michael Young and Angela Young, five great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren,many nieces and nephews and sister-in-laws, Marie Nicholson and Lily Brewer. She will also be remembered by many special friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry A. "Skip" Young, one brother, Raymond J. "Hoppy" Dyer, two sisters, Margaret Hershberger and Josephine Cramer. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 30, 2012, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Harry C. Cole, will officiate.
