George Leonard (LENNIE) Twentey, III, went to Heaven on September 28th after a brief illness, peacefully surrounded by his family. Born on January 18th, 1939, the special second son of the late Eva June and George Ross Twentey, Lennie was a premature twin, whose sister, Janet, died shortly after birth. He is survived by three brothers and one sister: Ron of Little Orleans, twins, Rudy of Yellow Springs and Judy of Frederick, and Peter of Thurmont, as well as 4 nieces and 4 nephews, several cousins, all their families, and a host of friends too numerous to list. Lifelong resident of Yellow Springs, Lennie worked outdoors on local farms growing up, and his entire adult life meticulously groomed the lawns of many local residents. An avid outsdoorsman, he loved to walk miles every day. He looked forward to hunting season in the fall, and enjoyed the embellished stories shared at deer camp. Lennie was a gentle, pure soul with an innocent sense of humor, an energetic work ethic, a natural musical and artistic talent, and an uncomplicated perspective on life. He will be sorely missed, but his life will long remain a shining example of God's love. Family will receive friends and family Tuesday, October 2nd between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street in Frederick, Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3rd at 2:00 pm, also at the funeral home, with Lennie's friend, Pastor Duane Jensen presiding.Interment will be in the Brookhill Cemetery, Yellow Springs.
