Helen M. Marshall

Helen M. Marshall, a resident of Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick, MD, died October 4, 2012 at the age of 95. Born on April 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George and Theresa Madden of Bayonne, NJ. She attended St Joseph Academy in McSherrystown, PA. and graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 1939. Prior to her marriage she was a Home Economics teacher in Bayonne, NJ. Helen was a devoted wife to her husband of 48 years, Frederic D. Marshall, who died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Teresa, brother George Madden, and sisters Mary and Jane Madden. She is survived by her five children; John D. Marshall of Cumming, GA, Nancy Marshall of Martinsburg, WV, Mary Jane Ewing, Frederick, MD, Patricia M. Nothstein, Baltimore, MD and Carol Ann Marshall, Boston MA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Helen was a long-time member of St. Joseph's-on-Carrollton Manor Catholic Church in Buckeystown, MD. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family, faith, and church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph 's on Tuesday, October 9 at 10 am with burial to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Building Fund, PO Box 33, Buckeystown, MD Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
