Herbert Gibson Jr., 85 of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Northampton Manor Healthcare Center. He was the husband of 64 years to Joy Williams Gibson. "Gip", a member of the Greatest Generation, served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan and followed with service in the Louisiana National Guard attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Born February 11, 1927, in Ansley, Louisiana, he was the eldest of ten children born to the late Herbert Andrew and Gladys Belle (Shiveley) Gibson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael Gibson and wife Anna, Richard Gibson and wife Debbie, and Ronald Gibson and wife Dee; three brothers, Marvin Gibson, Norman Gibson and Richard Gibson; three sisters, Della Cummings, Patsy Stagner and Martha Chisholm; nine grandchildren, Gina Engel and husband Chris, Jeffrey Gibson and wife Jane, James Gibson and wife Kelly, Amber Gonzales, Joshua Gibson and wife Jamie, Joy Mitchell and husband Andre, Jarod Gibson, Heather Curry and husband Clay and Krista Kesner and husband Brian; fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Gibson, Roy Gibson, and Billy Ray Gibson and grandson Jacob Gibson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 7857 Gambrill Park Road, Frederick, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 18, at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 14205 Pleasant Valley Road NE, Flintstone, Maryland 21530. The Rev. Ron E.
