Bernard Hargett

Mr. Bernard M. "Peepie" Hargett, Jr., 64, or Frederick, died on October 27, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on January 9, 1948, he was the son of Madeline Sier Hargett and the late Bernard M. Hargett, Sr. Peepie retired in 2001 after working for the Frederick County Government. Mr. Hargett was a musician for years, performing with the "Wild Country Band" as a guitar player and singer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughter Kimberly Scott and husband Peter of Sharpsburg, grandchildren Rebekah, Rachel, Elizabeth and Sarah and brother Stephen Hargett and wife Mary Ann of Jefferson as well as many cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1 from 7 to 9 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 2 at 1:00 PM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
