Mrs. Frances Adams Smith, 88, of Frederick, died Monday, November 5, 2012. She was the wife of the late Robert Earl Smith, Sr. Born April 7, 1924, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Frank R. and Anna I. Poole Adams, Sr. She was a 1941 graduate of Frederick High School, and retired in 1980, from Farmers & Mechanics National Bank, where she worked in the Commercial Credit Department for 20 years. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Frederick; and was a former member of the Samaritan Rebekah Lodge, where she served as noble grand in 1954. She is survived by a daughter, Terry R. Willard and husband Ray of Summerville, SC, one brother, Frank R. Adams Jr. and wife Joan of Frederick, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, HN3 Robert E. Smith, Jr., who died May 15, 1966, in the Republic of Vietnam, while serving with the First Marine Division, two sisters, Anna I. Kimmel and Norma W. "Pat" Crist. There will be no calling at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, November 9, 2012, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick. Rev. Dr. James Flora will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home.
