Virginia R. Woodman, 97, of Frederick, Maryland passed away on November 28, 2012 at Buckingham's Choice in Frederick.A resident of Frederick from 1945 to present, she lived on Fairview Avenue in Frederick until moving to Buckingham's Choice Retirement Community in February of 2000. She was the wife of Charles H. Woodman, who passed away in January of 1994.Born April 1, 1915 in Ridgewood, New Jersey she was the daughter of Bessie Dawson and William Howe Rich.She graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with her Bachelor's degree and was a member of Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a member of Frederick Presbyterian church, casual gardeners, Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary of Mid- Maryland, Alumni of Kappa Kappa Gamma and an honorary member of Frederick Art Club. After 15 years of working in career planning and placement, she retired in 1983 from Hood College.Virginia is survived by one son, Christopher and wife Julieanne Woodman of Thonton, Colorado; three granddaughters, Kimberly Fletcher and husband Lynn of Broomfield, Colorado, Tamara Baca and husband Dwayne and Amanda Jewell both of Westminster, Colorado; and two great grandsons Ryan Fletcher and Steven Baca.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice R. Lantheaume and Elizabeth Rich.According to her wishes there will be no visitation or viewing. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Her burial will take place in Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, New Jersey.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Frederick County YMCA, 1000 N.
