Ruth Gyda Jenkins, 86 of Frederick, Maryland passed away December 9, 2012 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home in Frederick, Maryland. She had been a resident of Frederick since 1988. Before that she lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Fairmont, West Virginia and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of John Copsey Brady who passed away in 1993, and was also married to William Gibbs Jenkins who passed away in 1992. Born May 9, 1926 in Frederikshavn, Nordjylland, Denmark she was the daughter of the late Rudolph Olesen and Elfrida Heede. She immigrated to the United States near Baltimore/Rockville area at the age of 1½ years. She was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville and later moved to Pennsylvania. Mrs. Jenkins retired in 1989 from the Department of Energy, where she had worked in accounting. She had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Frederick for many years. She was an avid quilter and had belonged to Friendship Star Quilters of Gaithersburg. Her expertise in the kitchen was loved by everyone and her pies were divine. Ruthie is survived by two sisters Harriett her husband Donald Carr of Valley Forge, PA Kristine and her husband Richard Stryker of New Port Richie, Florida, one brother Raymond and his wife Harriett Olesen of Saint Petersburg, Florida. The following children: John R. Brady and wife Nancy, Dale E. Brady and wife Vickie, Elaine Wright and Ed Alberstsdt, Karl S. Brady and wife Stephanie, Janet and husband Michael Low. She is also survived by the following grandchildren; Billy Brady and wife Penny, Don and wife Jill, Terri and husband Brandon Stilwell, Michael and fiancée Crystal Kelley, Patrick, Phillip, Andy Low and wife Elizabeth, Stephanie, Christian and wife Kathleen, Scott Low, Megan and Nick. There are also eight great grandchildren: Alex, Ashleigh, Zachary, Aaron, Julia, Kayla, Jack and Caleb. She was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Olesen Grunigen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, December 13, 2012, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Lynn Wilson, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
