Sharon Anne Baker

June 22, 1942 — December 16, 2012

Sharon Anne Baker, of Braddock Heights, died on December 16 at her residence. She was the wife of David R. Baker. Born on June 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Norman Henry Sullivan and Marjorie Eleanor (Fitzgerald) Sullivan. Sharon is a native Washingtonian, went to St. Gabriel's and St. Dominic's in S.W. D.C. She worked for many years as an office manager, in corporate banking, investment accounting and finance prior to her 15 year career in real estate. She was a well-respected real estate professional who cared deeply for her clients and has received numerous recognitions for her work. Sharon enjoyed serving as the chairperson and organizer of historic home tours, doing community fund raisers, and participated in several historical societies. Sharon was a people person who had countless friends, a big bright smile, a kind word for all and a compassionate spirit. She also loved her two dogs Opie & Angel, decorating and design, old houses, entertaining friends and family, travel, dancing, Motown, light jazz and classical music and all the fun things in life. For all that knew her everyone would nod their head in agreement that she above all else "she was a class act". She is survived by her husband and her daughter Lee Bautista Ricker and husband Joe of Palm Coast, Florida as well as her grandson Michael Ricker. She is also survived by her sister Andrea Posin and husband Garry of Rockville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Sullivan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19 from 2-5 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 1:00 PM at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 East Church Street, Frederick. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
