Ralph Edward Goodsell

Mr. Ralph Edward Goodsell, 90, of Feagaville, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the Vindobona Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of the late Mary Virginia Whipp Goodsell, who died on July 3, 2011. They were married for 64 years. Born in Frederick on August 31, 1922, he was a son of the late Raymond Lewis and Fannie Viola Bere Goodsell. Mr. Goodsell proudly served his country during WW II in the United States Army, in Company A, 207th Combat Engineer Battalion. In his early years after the military he worked as a cabinet maker and finish carpenter. He worked for the US Postal Service as a postal clerk, where he retired from. Ralph was an active member of the Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Feagaville and food and friends. Surviving him is one brother, Raymond L. Goodsell and wife Lillie, of Frederick, one sister, Gladys P. Hawkins, of Myersville, a sister-in-law, Rosalie V. Goodsell, of Lewistown, and several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered and sadly missed by special neighbors, Anita and Mel Hamburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell W. Goodsell and a sister, Annetta M. Wilson. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, December 24, 2012, in the St. Luke's Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
