Thomas Joseph "Tom" Dougherty Jr., 66, of Union Bridge, Maryland passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Grace (D'Anna) Dougherty for 44 years. Born January 8, 1946 in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Vivianne (Walsh) and Thomas Joseph Dougherty Sr. Tom was a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. He was a physical education teacher with the Montgomery County Public School System, spending his last 22 years at Baker Intermediate School. He enjoyed playing baseball, coaching, hunting, fishing and most importantly, enjoyed watching his grandchildren ride horses, play soccer and basketball and participate in swimming and gymnastics. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his four daughters, Colleen Marie (Dougherty) Duda and husband Gregory Dmitri, Dawn Marie Dougherty, Kelly Marie Dougherty and Deanna Marie Dougherty; his three granddaughters, Katelyn Danielle Duda, Karlee Michelle Duda and Kelsie Marie Duda; one brother, Robert Thomas Dougherty and wife Barbara Ann (Wilson) Dougherty; and many nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was a super loving and proud G-Dad to his three little angels and will be deeply missed by his four daughters and his devoted and loving wife. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Friday, December 28 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland. Inurnment will be private.
