Mrs. Katherine Maria Kelly Finley (Katie) of Frederick, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 26th, in the comfort of her home, after a long fought battle with OVARIAN CANCER. Born on August 17th, 1959 to Teresita and the late Harry Kelly, Katie's childhood was spent in Adamstown, Maryland. On September 11, 1982 Katie was married to the love of her life, Clyde Finley. Katie enjoyed working many various jobs which included her passion for art and creating things with her imagination and hands. Another of Katie's joy was hosting and planning her frequent family gatherings. Her primary job was raising their two active boys. Katie was the strength and foundation of the entire family. Katie was the most spectacular mother. She will always be remembered for her dedication and love for her family. Her love and caring was shared and felt by everyone she touched till the very end. Katie's memories will be cherished by her husband Clyde and two sons Garret and Joseph, along with her remaining family. Katie will be missed by her nine brothers and sisters and their spouses: Mary A. Kelly, Gregory M. Kelly, Margaret M. Kelly, Paula M. Kelly, Kevin M. and Mary Hope Kelly, Mark A. and Suzi Kelly, Agnes M. and Mark Heller, Anthony J. Kelly and Teresita M. and Gene Lemar. John and Audrey Allen, Jerry, David and Wayne Finley will also mourn their daughter-in-law and sister-in-law. Katie will be missed by her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephew. Friends will be received on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 31 at 10 am at Saint Joseph's on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick, MD 21703. Father Lawrence K. Frazier will officiate. The interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Contributions may be made in Katie's name to "St. Joseph's Building Fund", PO Box 33, Buckeystown, MD 21717.
