Bessie Himelright

Mrs. Bessie Himelright, 92, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walkersville. She was the wife of the late Charles Nelson Himelright, Sr., who died on March 21, 1986. Born on March 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Denver Colorado Willis and Bertha Mae Willis. She retired as a Secretary/Stenographer with the Federal Government in Washington DC. She was a long time active member of Ager Road UMC in Hyattstown, MD where she served in missions and the United Methodist Women. After moving to Crestwood Village in 1981, she attended Christ UMC in Frederick, where she was active in the Circle of Friends. She moved to Tranquility Assisted Living in 2003 and attended church services each week at the facility. She was a lady of faith, who loved to play bridge, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved family and friends. She is survived by daughters, Susan Makarevicz and husband Tony of Brighton, CO and Sally Lynch and husband Jim of Fort Lupton, CO, son, Charles N. Himelright Jr., of Sarasota, FL, granddaughter, Heidi Lynch, grandson, Adam Makarevicz, special friends, Carl and Linda Reed, two brothers and one sisters. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Michael Lee Himelright and grandson, Matthew Lynch. The family will receive friends from 9am to 10am, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the Keeney & Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will follow at 10:00am, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel in the funeral home. Floral tributes are welcome and may be delivered to the funeral home. Pastor Nathan Mizzell will officiate. Interment will be at 1:30pm, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg, VA. Online condolences may be shared at www.keeneybasford.com
