Mr. Howard Samuel Wilt, 93, of Adamstown, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marguerite Summers Wilt. Born in Lander on July 19, 1919, he was a son of the late William W., Sr., and Grace Virginia Harris Wilt. Howard was a dairy farmer for many years in the Adamstown area and after retiring from the farm he worked as a carpenter. He was an avid hunter. Surviving him are three daughters, Carol L. Evans, of Ohio, Kelly L. Wilt, of Frederick and Karyn S. Rebernik and husband Boris, of Taneytown, one sister, Virginia Burdette, of Washington State, eight grandchildren, Jaime, Derek, Rick, Denni, Jason, Jessica, Eric and Faith, also surviving are numerous great and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lee Smith, who died in April 1976, and three brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from the funeral home. Boris Rebernik, his son-in-law, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory, to a charity of one's choice.
