Delores Warren

Mrs. J. Delores Warren, age 93 of Frederick, Md. passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Harry A. Warren who passed away on September 14, 1987. Born on March 22, 1919 in Humboldt, Kansas, she was the daughter of Harry and Jennie Mynatt. Delores, as she was known by all, graduated from Humboldt High School, and Pittsburg State Teachers College, Pittsburg, Kansas. After college, she taught school in a one-room school house in Jeddo, Kan. and 5th grade in Iola Kansas. In May 1942 she married the love of her life, Harry A. Warren of Fort Scott, Kansas. They lived in Wichita, Kan., Oklahoma City, Okla., Minneapolis Minn., Washington DC, and Norfolk, Neb. They loved ball-room dancing, gardening, serving in their churches and playing bridge. Delores was an avid bridge player. She was also a beautiful seamstress, a marvelous cook, and she loved to travel. But most of all, she devoted her life to her husband and her children. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Jerry A. Warren & wife Monica of Frederick, MD, Richard D. Warren & wife Marti of Aurora, IL, and Lisa S. Warren of Plano, TX; five grandchildren, Kyle, Chad, Lori, Scott, and Marc; two great grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 3 to 4:30 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where a prayer service will be begin at 4:30 PM. Rev. Dr. Cheryl L Tatham will officiate. Food and drinks will be provided following the service at the Residence Inn Fredrick at 5230 Westview Drive, Frederick, MD 21703. Mrs. Warren will be buried with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 2 PM. Those wishing to attend, please arrive at the administration building by 1:30 PM. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Warren's name to Norfolk Veterans' Home, 600 East Benjamin Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701 or to Alzheimer's Association of Maryland, 108 Byte Court, Frederick, MD 21702.
