Doris Ruth Blymyer

Mrs. Doris Ruth Hershberger Blymyer, 93, of Catlett, Virginia, formerly of Frederick, Maryland, died on January 24, 2013. She was the wife of the late Jerre Weisel Blymer. Born on January 1, 1920 in Cessna, PA, she was the daughter of the late Humphrey Daniel and Margaret May Hershberger. Doris moved to Washington, DC during World War II and worked as a secretary in the U.S. Federal Government. Doris married her husband prior to his military deployment in the European Theatre. She is survived by Michael Blymer (Judy), Daniel Blymyer (Elaine Shea), Patrice Blymyer and beloved niece Teena Deborba as well as seven grandchildren Tad, Laurel, Rosemary, Danielle, Dori, Dane and Colin and one great grandchild Sage. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerre and sons Patrick and Thad. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Frederick, Maryland 21702 or the Alzheimer's Association, 108 Byte Drive, Suite 103, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
