Heaven gained two twinkling stars February 1, 2013 with the passing of Sophie Paige Lillard and Madigan Grace Lillard in a tragic house fire at their home in Myersville, MD. Sophie, born May 15, 2006, and Madigan, born November 26, 2009, were the daughters of Jack and Christine Lillard. The girls enjoyed family vacations in Disney, playing dress-up, being together, entertaining their family with sing-along and dance parties, playing together with big sister Morgan, and watching little sister Sadie grow. Sophie was a first grader at Carroll Creek Montessori School. Sophie had a love of nature, especially birds, butterflies, ladybugs, and gathering and arranging flowers. Sophie loved dressing up, drawing and painting, and learning Spanish. Sophie never passed up the chance to open a make-up case and give herself a makeover. Sophie was a nurturer who loved being silly and making those around her laugh and be as happy as she. Madigan was an energetic three year old who just enjoyed life. Madigan could often be found dressed in her Pocahontas or princess dresses, wearing her favorite princess crown, and filling the room with the sound of her singing along to her favorite princess songs. Madigan loved calling her small dog, stealing "daddy snacks", helping with baby sister Sadie, and reading memorized parts of her favorite books "I Love My Daddy Because" and "Sleepy Dog". Sophie and Madigan are survived, in addition to their parents, by two loving sisters, Morgan and Sadie. They are also survived by paternal grandparents Jim and Sharon Lillard, maternal grandparents, Bruce and Melissa Shuck, aunt and uncle Rebecca and Nicholas Pomato, cousins Mya and Riddick Pomato and Shelby and Trent Shuck, great grandmother Caroline R. Feaga, and numerous great aunts and uncles. Sophie and Madigan were preceded in death by their uncle Robert Shuck. Private family services will be held. These were happy children who loved the outdoors and were surrounded by love their entire lives. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. Sadly missed, we welcome friends and family sharing memories and stories often to keep their memory alive. The girls provided us with a lifetime of love in their short time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward a memorial children's public playground, which is planned in the near future to honor the memory of Sophie and Madigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Lillard Family Fund" at PNC banks in the Frederick County Area.
