Ruby Jane Lawson

August 10, 1924 — February 21, 2013

Mrs. Ruby Jane Phebus Lawson, age 88 of New Market, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Woodrow W. Lawson who passed away in 1990. Born on August 10, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Fuller Edward Phebus and Millie Jane Moxley Phebus. Mrs. Lawson was a 1942 graduate from Damascus High School. Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Shirley Pennington and husband Malcolm of Frederick, Donald Lawson and wife Jean of Walkersville, Gary Lawson and wife Debra of Middletown, Linda Johnson and husband Michael of New Market, Jerry Lawson and wife Michelle of Kearneysville, WV, and Jill Lawson of New Market; 12 grandchildren, Curtis, Billy, Wayne, Dan, Doug, Brian, Dawn, Kim, Paul, Jamie, Briana and Jessilynn; and 13 great-grandchildren, one sister Arlene Walter of Damascus, and 3 nephews, Bob, Ron, Dennis Walter. All services will be private. Arrangements by the to the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
