Shirley Virginia Painter

Mrs. Shirley Virginia Painter, 74, of Rockville, died on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Painter, who preceded her in death on February 16, 2006. Born in Derwood on November 27, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle Carter Thompson. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Geico. She is survived by four sons, Fred B. Pridemore, Jr. and wife, Celeste, of New Market; Edward A. Pridemore and wife, Denise, of Rockville; Robert S. Painter, Jr. and partner, Richard Mason, of Phoenix, AZ; Ricky R. Painter and wife, Linda, of Germantown. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Painter, Ruth Lowe, Lorraine Thompson; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Horace "Sonny" Thompson. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, February 26 at the Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E Church Street, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 27. Pastor Randy Dennis, will officiate. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850.
