Caroline Elizabeth Hahn Routzahn, wife of James Edward Routzahn of 58 years, was called home to her Lord on March 8, 2013. Born on May 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Stephan Hahn and Nellie Irene Geisinger Hahn. She lived and worked in Frederick her entire life and worked in numerous jobs in her younger years but her greatest joy in life was giving and caring for others young and old. She went to Frederick Community College in her later years to become a Licensed Daycare Provider and cared for many children through the years who fondly referred to her as Oma (the informal German name for grandmother). She had a very strong faith and enjoyed watching evangelical programs, reading scriptures, and listening to spiritual music. She had a gift for teaching, caring, and nursing. She was a member of the Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, Frederick; where in her younger years she did a lot of volunteer work. She had a loving and caring personality and was known to speak her mind. Her greatest joy was raising her two daughters, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and spending time with her husband. She had a simple yet important life that touched many people. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Tina Showe and Lisa Routzahn, four grandchildren, Donnie Lowe and wife Stacey, Charles (Chuck) Custer and wife Melissa (Missy), Michelle Showe, and Stacey Showe Harrison. Six great-grandchildren, Coby, Jenna, and Cara Lowe, Christian Masser, Addison and Logan Custer and one sister, Bertha (Sue) Betson as well many nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings William Hahn, Melvin Hahn, Donald Hahn, John Frances Hahn, Edward Hahn, Roland Hahn, John Arthur Hahn, Nellie Anne Hahn, Maude Shank, Agnes Smith, Catherine Strube, Clythnia DeLashmutt, and Jane Kinsey.
