Betty Jane Blank

March 15, 1932 — March 9, 2013

Mrs. Betty Jane Blank, age 80 of Middletown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Vindobona Nursing Home, Braddock Heights. She was the wife of the late Donald Lee Blank, Sr. Born on March 15, 1932 in Washington County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Merhle and Mary (Haupt) Crone. Mrs. Blank loved playing Bingo. She worked for 20 years at Vindobona Nursing Home and after her retirement, continued volunteering at Vindobona. Mrs. Blank is survived by her children, Richard Griffith, Sr., Alan Griffith, Donald Blank, Jr., James Blank, and Mary Ellen Musser, her grandchildren, David Griffith, Kim Burras, Stacey Stream, Donna Robertson, Amy Jones, Paula Brown, and Paul Musser, Jr., 8 Great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Crone. She will also be remembered by her special friend Connie Sexton. The Family would like to give their special thanks to her second family for all their love and support at Vindobona, and additional thanks to Missy Ferrell for all her care and support. Friends will be received on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 3 to 5 and 7-9 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2 PM. Pastor Tom Paris will officiate. The interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middletown.
