Richard Eugene Musselman

January 21, 1945 — March 9, 2013

Richard "Dickie" E. Musselman, 68, of Frederick, died on Saturday, March 9 in the Hospice Care Unit at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He leaves behind the love of his life and favorite dance partner, Diane, whom he married in October, 1977. Born on January 21, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Anna Musselman. Richard had a love of food, both eating and preparing it, and was known for his grilling abilities. He was an avid golfer and was extremely competitive. Recently he began teaching his wife how to golf and they spent many afternoons on the golf course. In his younger years, he enjoyed trap shooting, and driving antique tractors with his brother, Earl. Later in life, he renewed his interest in cabinet building and was also a "sports trivia encyclopedia". In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tamra King and her husband Steven and a devoted and loyal stepson, Shawn Shankle, four grandchildren, Madelynn, Katelynn, Brice and Cameron King, siblings Robert (Connie), Ace (Artie), Joe (Bettyjean), Johnny, Barbara (Wayne) Lowe and Linda Bruchey, sisters-in-law Joy Musselman, Linda Tucker and Jackie Burdette and mother-in-law, June Anderson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. In addition to many lifelong friends, he is survived by his childhood friend, Tom Tucker. Mr. Musselman will also be missed by his beloved dog, Poo. He was preceded in death by his brothers Earl Musselman and Garry Musselman. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home, Reverend Harry C. Cole officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
