Charles Howard Miller

Mr. Charles Howard "Charlie" Miller, 73, of Frederick, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his home. Born in Frederick on January 11, 1940, he was a son of the late John Franklin and Hattiebelle Zimmerman Miller. Charlie was a graduate of Frederick High Class of 1958. He then served in the Army Reserve for several years and was retried after many years as an electrical engineer in communications. He was a member of the Frederick Elks Lodge, Frederick County Fish and Game Protective Association, NRA and the Frederick Amateur Radio Club, (K3ARN) He was avid ham radio operator and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his brothers, Terry E. Miller and wife Virginia, of Frederick, and Jerry T. Miller, of Rehoboth Beach, DE., two nephews, Darren Bryant and Scott Miller, one niece, Cindy M. Sabato and several great nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Elizabeth Miller. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. The Rev. Timothy S. May, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be; Jerry Grove, Gene Green, Scott Miller, Darren Bryant, Fred Ridgeway and Mark L. Alexander. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at keeneybasford.com.
