Robert B. Dayhoff, a lifelong resident of Dickerson, Maryland passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Born on October 16, 1939 at home in Dickerson, he was the son of the late Robert T. and Virginia (Tabler) Dayhoff. Son-in-law of the late Sophie and Clyde Stunkle of Tuscarora. He graduated from Poolesville High School. He enjoyed farming but mostly drove a truck. He retired from Southern States Motor Transportation Section after 21 years. After retirement he was known as the "volunteer farmer" on the family farm. He was a member of the Tuscarora Gun Club and a long time Dallas Cowboy fan. He is survived by his wife Ludy (Stunkle) Dayhoff; sisters Margaret (Peggy) Johnson and husband Arthur; Nancy Baker and husband Paul, all of Dickerson. A sister-in-law Sally Summers of Tuscarora, Maryland. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Bobby Johnson (Godson), Kathy Zimmerman, Lisa Thrash, Ray Baker, Rob Baker, Brad Baker, Paula Shultz as well as by great nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by a very devoted niece Joan Twigg and her husband Dave of Tuscorora. He will be greatly missed by his cherished extended family, Deborah Sander and son Christopher of Frederick. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market St., Frederick. For those wishing to attend, please meet at the FSK chapel at 10:45 AM.
