Margarete "Greta" Rushing Mrs. Greta Rushing, 87, of Jefferson, Maryland, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Fritz Hermann Fulde and Hilda Anna Fulde. She was also preceeded in death by her husband, David Dalton Rushing and her sisters Eleanor Lytle and Ruth Bollerud. She is the last of her family. Greta was born on June 10, 1925, in Karlsruhe, Germany. She married Mr. Rushing on October 22, 1957. She lived in numerous places in Europe and the United States before settling in Jefferson in 1972. Greta loved life, nature and especially her animals. She spoke of them often and her dog Sasha daily. She made friends wherever she would go, and was generous and giving to everyone. Whether it was at the YMCA, Giant Eagle, or her last home of Homewood, everyone knew Greta and grew to love her. She will be remembered fondly by her close friends, Jean Lytle of San Antonio, TX, Harvey Lythe of NM, Bobbi Schell, Larry Mills, and Mary Sue Rice of Jefferson. The Community of Briarcrest in Jefferson will miss her greatly. Her neighbors became her family and their children became hers. She will be forever in our hearts. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Rev. Esther R. Ziegler will officiate. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared to the Humane Society of Frederick County, 217 W. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701.
