Mr. William Robert "Robby" Cole, Sr., 91, of Frederick went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit. He was the loving husband of 64 years to Marie Ann Artinger Cole, who died on December 10, 2011. Robby was born in Frederick, on August 18, 1921 and he was a son of the late Charles E. "Boots" and Margaret "Tootsie" Wickless Cole. He was a graduate of Frederick High School and proudly served his country during WW II in the United States Army Air Corp. He attended Pittsburgh Horological Institute, (Watch School), in Pittsburgh, PA, were he also met his wife Marie. Robby started a furniture store in Fredrick for several years and later decided to leave the furniture business and opened in 1948 Cole's Pawnbroker's Outlet, which has always been on Market Street and is still open and he was active with the store until his death. He was a member of the VFW in Frederick and the Owls Club. He very much enjoyed family gatherings, picnics. eating out, golf, bowling, traveling, especially to his shore home. His kindness, dedication, and generosity to family, friends and strangers were a testament to who he was. He made the world a better place and will be missed by many. Surviving are four children, Bill Cole and wife Patty, Diane Cole, Paul and David Cole, 10 grandchildren, Jared Cole and wife Megan, Todd Cole, Paul Cole, Jr., Bradley Cole and wife Carly, Justin Cole, Maria Cole, Benjamin Cole, Jessica Cole, Sarah Cole and Matthew Cole, and two great grandchildren Emily and Audrey Cole, one brother, Charles E. Cole II and wife Cecelia, one sister-in-law, Betty Langman, one brother-in-law, Walter Artinger and wife Elaine and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Cole and sister-in-law, Margie Wilson and husband Henry. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., on Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 30, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Mark H. Vander Meer, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Cole and active pallbearers will be, Todd Cole, Paul Cole, Jr., Brad Cole, Ronald Hartsock, Henry Wilson and John Lentz.
