Karen Sue Young

September 15, 1946 — March 29, 2013

Karen Sue Young, 66 of Frederick Maryland, passed away on March 29, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born September 15, 1946 in Crookstown, Minnesota, she was the second eldest of seven daughters born to Robert and Bertha (Gregerson) Micka. Mrs. Young was a graduate of Illinois Central College with an Associates Degree in Accounting. She also served in the United Stated Army from 1964-1966. Karen is survived by one daughter, Wendy L. Pittman and husband Travis; one granddaughter Jordan that is currently training for the United States Air Force in San Angelo, TX ; one grandson, David that is attending high school in Illinois and four sister, Diane, Marlene, Annette and Phyllis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters Linda and Janice. The family will hold a private gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Animal Welfare League, 1202 E. Patrick St. #13A, Frederick, Maryland 21701. Arrangements are by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home.
