Jimmy Eugene Masser, Sr.

Mr. Jimmy Eugene Masser, Sr., 79, of Frederick, went peacefully to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Mary Cecilia Linton Masser. They were married for 59 years. Born in Shookstown on March 15, 1934, he was a son of the late Irving Theodore and Emma Irene Schultz Masser. Mr. Masser was a brick mason for many years having worked for several local contractors and for several years he owned and operated his own company with his son's known as J & A Masser Masonry. He was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the Shookstown Civic Association. He enjoyed spending time with his entire family and sharing his many stories, he loved trips to the beach and attending family reunions.. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Jimmy E. Masser, Jr., of Frederick, Deborah Ann Masser Poole and husband Donnie, Jr., of Middletown and Alan Christopher Masser and wife Pamela, of Knoxville, six grandchildren, Joshua Masser, Aaron Masser, Amanda Poole Williams and husband Carson, Michael Poole, Heather Masser and Trent Masser, and two great grandchildren, Isaiah and Kayden Masser, a sister-in-law, Charlotte Masser and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by siblings, Thuryle Masser Hahn and husband John, Helen Masser Carey and husband Doug, James Karl Masser and wife Vivian and Lawrence Masser. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 12, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Deacon George Sisson, of Holy Family Community Catholic Church, Middletown, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rocky Springs Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be; Gary Hildebrand, David Masser, Steve Abrecht, Gary Masser, Tom Crummitt, Eddie Storks, Jeff Storks and Monie Main. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Rocky Springs Cemetery or Shookstown Civic Association, in C/O Charles Baugher, 7606 Old Receiver Road, Frederick, MD 21702.
