Richard Barry Young

April 15, 1947 — April 23, 2013

Mr. Richard Barry Young, 66, of Frederick, died on Tuesday, April 23 at his residence. Born on April 15, 1947, he was the son of the late Melvin Young and Virgie Ridgley Young. Mr. Young worked at the Jeanne Bussard Center as a launderer. Richard will especially be remembered by his special friends at the ARC of Frederick County and others as a very kind and gentle man. He held a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. Mr. Young enjoyed camping at the Claggett Center in Buckeystown, which he had done for 10 years, often with his sister. Richard loved to watch older western movies, and especially enjoyed ones with John Wayne in them. Richard is survived by his sister, Loretta Pennington and her husband Nick of Frederick. He is preceded in death by a brother, Randy Young. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 11:00 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should assemble at the FSK Chapel at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
