Mrs. Hilda Thomas Moxley, age 95 of Frederick passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walkersville. She was the wife of the late Charles William Moxley whom she was married to from March 11, 1950 until his death on February 7, 1977. Born on October 16, 1917 in Frederick she was the 4th daughter of 8 born to the late Roy Thomas, Sr. and Lena (Esworthy) Perrell. She was the last of her immediate family. Mrs. Moxley was a member of the Rainbow Bells, the order of the Moose #371 Auxiliary and the Forest Grove United Methodist Church in Dickerson. In her free time she enjoyed going to dances, playing Bingo and going to various activities at Glade Valley. She loved her family, enjoyed many family reunions and taking trips to Ocean City. Up until her husband's death she was a hard working farmer's wife and homemaker. Mrs. Moxley was the devoted mother of Vickie Sue Darr and husband John (Steve) of Frederick, Sherry Lynn Spruill and husband John of Sabillasville, and Donna K. Meyer and husband Ronnie of Frederick; the grandmother of Charles William Etchison and Michelle Lynn Meyer and her boyfriend Stevie Crim. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Arlene Perrell of La Vale, Maryland, her former son-in-law William (Lee) Etchison of Westcliffe, CO, her devoted friend and caregiver Tanya Jackson, special friends Betty Irene Ratajczak and Harold and Carol Johnson and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the good care given by the nursing staff at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Geoff with Frederick County Hospice, and a social worker named Jodi. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11 AM. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
