Mr. Earnest Moore, 92, died on May 16, at Country Meadows of Frederick. He was the husband of 70 years to the late Margaret Harrill Moore. Born on June 15, 1920 in Appalachia, Virginia, he was the son of the late John and Ora Moore. Mr. Moore owned and operated Fre-Mont Refrigeration and Air Conditioning before retiring in 1995. He established the business at 60 years of age after retiring from work as chief mechanical engineer at MicroBiological Associates. Mr. Moore was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Ijamsville. Known as "Earnie" to all, even small children, he was universally loved for his gentleness, kindness, wit and boundless generosity. Earnest is survived by a daughter, Lavon "Bunny" Coxen of Ijamsville; two grandsons, Craig Coxen of Annapolis, and Sean Coxen and wife Rajani of Greenbelt; two great-grandchildren, Ian Coxen and Anna Coxen, both of Gaithersburg as well as his beloved sister Ruby (Moore) Cavin. Earnie will also be missed by his loving and devoted friends and caregivers at Country Meadows of Frederick. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22 from 5-8 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 1:30 PM at Country Meadows Retirement Community, 5955 Quinn Orchard Road, Frederick. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
