Robert Joseph Jackson

Mr. Robert Joseph "Joey" Jackson, 61, of Walkersville, died on Friday, May 17 at Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy. He was the husband of 42 years of Elizabeth Anne Quinn Jackson Born on January 21, 1952, he was the son of the late Elmer Wayne Jackson and Orean Howard Jackson. Mr. Jackson retired from IBM in 2002 after a 30 year career as a service representative. He was, at one time, a member of Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company. Joey enjoyed golfing, fishing and especially woodworking out of his workshop at home. Most important to him was his family and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Joey is survived by his 3 children Natalie Ganley and her husband Sean, Matthew Jackson and his wife Kimberly and Bridgett Whalen and her husband Mark, six grand-children Chase, Austin, Audrey, Anna, Claire and Kaydance. He is also survived by siblings David W. Jackson and his wife Lynn, Dana "Rodney" Jackson and his wife Gail, Lorraine Keller and her husband James and Donna Droneburg and her husband Allen as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by brother Britt Alexander Jackson. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21 from 5-8 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
