Kathleen May Virts

Kathleen May Virts, 91 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of 48 years to Harold Stanley Virts Sr. Born January 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Omar and Marguerite (Himes) Murray. In addition to her husband she is survived by two step sons, Emory E. "Gene" Virts and wife Patricia A. and Terry Lee Virts and wife Lorna Jean; former daughter-in-law Cynthia Kaye Warnock and husband Wayne; sister-in-law Betty Murray; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She loved reading, gardening and chasing around her two Min-Pins, Dixie and Savannah. She is preceded in death by one step son, Harold S. Virts Jr. and his wife Gloria; three brothers, Douglas "Bud" Murray, Thomas Murray amd Glenn Markwood Himes, one sister Louise Blank. The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9pm on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 24, at the funeral home. The Reverend Marina Flores will officiate. Interment will follow at the Jefferson Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery. The pallbears will be Tommy Murray, Wayne Warnock, James Virts, Bernie Wolford, John Murray and David Zimmerman.
