Doris Jean "DJ" Thomas, 82, of Silver Spring, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of James Clanton Thomas. Born on August 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George David and Bertha Alice Reese. DJ was a long time member of the Montgomery Hills Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Link and husband Rich and daughter Sandie Hall and husband Scott; eight grandchildren, Ashleigh, Whitney, Caleb, Emily, Rachel, Sarah, Adam and Jason; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 4pm, at the Montgomery Hills Baptist Church, 9727 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. Pastor Joel S. Hawthorne will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery Hills Baptist Church at the above address. Arrangements are by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home.
